FS SCENERY ENHANCER by LAGO

Ok, I bought the darn thing... seems quite easy to use, but I have a few questions... can anyone help?

1) Can I add my own .bgl or scasm (macro) files to it? Say for instance I want to create my own hanger and not use any of those included within the default program.

2) Textures, can I add my own textures or those of others to it?

3) Say for instance, I scale "FENCE 1" to 90%, it makes it about 6 feet high or so... But is there way to scale it to make it longer or shorter without change the height?

I just got it too and had the same thoughts. One thing I can answer is the scaling. If you scale something it'll be larger in all dimensions but if you look in the lists there are long fences that you can use.

Thanks Fozzer.  Yeah I know about the longer fences, however... I don't like the bottom (brick) of the longers fences, I am looking for something like 'Fence 1' but longer because it is going to be a pain to fence in my home airport (very big).

The raise/lower command is great. Here's a preview of my newest estate. Just a little country house in South Texas actually.  ;D

I used a couple buildings lowered to create the gatehouses and fountain centerpiece.

And of course, there's a good long runway so that I can fly 250 friends in for a weekend.  ;D

Ooops, I didn't even think about the raise/lower commands (even though I use them all the time for other things)... Ok, so color me anything but intelligent!

Hey Matt, I noticed your scenery has roads... how did you get those in there (what did you use)?

The roads polygons and grass textures were added with FSSC. I used FSSE for the buildings and trees since FSSC default buildings etc are a little lame. I downloaded some macros for better buildings but I'm having trouble with the textures showing up.

The two editor programs complement each other nicely. I just downloaded Airport to give it a try and see which ones I like best.

Been following this thread with interest. If I understand correctly, this prog creates objects that only you or another person who also has the prog can use. Right?

If so, OK if only you want the stuff you make - but as everyone uses freeware made by other people it seems to me that if you do get into stuff like scenery design you should always have in your mind to try to upload what you've made just to give something back to simming.

Just my way of thinking I guess...

I agree 100% but this is a quick start. I'm just learning the ins and outs of FSSC and BMP2000 so I got my airport going good while I'm learning. That's one of the limitations I've found in FSSE. If  you could create scenery to share it would be a 10 on my scale.

Another shortcoming is the fact that you cannot add objects to it. If they took care of those two things I think FSSE would be a lot more popular than now.

That is what I thought about the roads Matt, I agree 100% with you and RollerBall.  I wish the scenery was written in .bgl and you can add your own stuff to it also.

But, then again... if they scenery files were written as .bgl, that means less people would want (or need) to buy FSSE because it wouldn't be needed and therefore loss of income for LAGO.  But

Hey all,

I am trying to find a way to edit a .bgl file. I was hoping for something similar to the dtxbmp program.

Trying to find a way to edit  the airports that I found online(which have a golf course looking grass texture), and place it on top of VFR photographic scenery so the photographic texture will show through the green areas.

Does that even make sense to any of you???
all suggestions welcome

I agree Matt... What I'd like to see with FSSE for the ACOF version.

1. Ability to create and import your own objects/textures.
2. Ability to scale horizontally (X) and vertically (Y) instead of value.
3. Ability to export it as a .BGL file.
4. More GA static aircraft.

But, like I said... if you could export it as a .BGL, then there would be less of a need for FSSE, other than that of those that like to create scenery.  So I doubt LAGO will allow it to be exported as a .BGL file.  But, here is food for thought... I really think that if LAGO used the FSSE concept and mixed it with the FSSC (or Airport & Scenery Designer by Abacus) concept and allow it to exported to .BGL, I thing they would have one hell of a hit in sales!!!

Imagine being able to create your own airport with runway, tarmac, taxiways, etc. with the ease that FSSE presents, but still be able to add the ILS, NDB, VOR, GPS approaches, etc.

I would pay some damn good money for something like that!

To sum it up... FSSE + FSSC = AN AWESOME PROGRAM!
