Removing river scenery

???First attempt at scenery design; added a missing river to FS2002, using ASD v2.1.  River shows up as horrible semi-transparent blue band, over roads. Tried re-installing FS2002, but band still there. How can I get rid of this monster?

Okay, you say you reinstalled and it is STILL there?  That should not happen unless you failed to UNinstall beforehand.  If this is the case, back up any aircraft, gauges, effects etc that you have added, but do not back up the scenery you have added.  Then unintall and return to default settings.

This should fix your problem.  If it doesn't, then something is wrong with your FS discs and you are SOL. :(

Hi Kenny. I have never used ASD but assume it works in much the same way as the freeware Airport 2.6 & FS Scenery Creator. I don't know how experienced you are with adding scenery, which method you used to create the river or how you installed it. If the new BGL file(s) is/are installed direct to FS2002\SCENERY or FS2002\SCENEDB deleting them should fix it. That's providing you know the file names of course. If you're not sure a full Uninstall/Install of FS2002 might be the only way out.

I strongly suggest you treat your own stuff in the same way as any other 3rd party scenery. Install it separately & activate it via the Scenery Library. Then it's a simple matter to deactivate it again for whatever reason & before deleting the files if necessary. Always take back-up copies of any files you intend to modify.

Thanks a lot! Uninstalled FS again; uninstalled and deleted anything even remotely connected with FS; then after re-installation of program, things were all back to normal!!

Seems a very drastic solution

If you want to modify roads, rivers etc use CoastLineMaker. You will get a good result (after a little work!) and avoid all these problems if you follow the instructions.

It helps to have a bit of scenery design experience though as it isn't for complete novices.
