Editing satelite image background

Postby Don't Shoot » Wed Mar 26, 2003 2:57 pm

[glb]Question:[/glb]

Hello,
I'm new in this part of the simulator and I need assistance in finding the satelite image background for a specific area - In this case the country of Israel.
Then I want to edit it with a regular photo editing program (i.e. photoshop) and place it in the game instead of the original.

Is there a way of doing it?
Is there a simple way of doing it? (without having to remodel the entire country scenery)...

I will appreciate any help out here  ::)

To cover the complete area I think you would need to create terrain mesh scenery. I have no experience in this area & suspect it's not that easy. It might be better to search for existing terrain mesh for the particular area.
You could check out MW's FSTerrain http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/programs/fstrn.htm & TerraBuilder. http://www.terrabuilder.com/
Note that both were originally intended for FS2000 but I think they should be compatible with FS2002.

To add or modify airports you would need to use a conventional design program like Airport 2.6x or FS Scenery Creator from the Scenery Design section.
