DC3/HP42 Radio Altimeter. Rev counter

Postby E.E. » Tue Feb 02, 2016 7:56 am

I have transferred a panel from the FS2400 Handley Page HP 42 into the FSX aircraft because the latter is disappointing. It's successful but there remains two little niggles. The radio altimeter won't work - neither the FS 2004 HP 42 one or the DC3 one from FSX. I've noticed this is the case with several old aircraft as well. I am not certain a radio altimeter is applicable to an aircraft designed in 1925 but is there a fix? Also the rev counters in the FS2004 panel read fast. They zero at 1000, is there a fix here?
The power of the engines in the FSX aircraft seems way too great. Could the HP42 actually accelerate climbing at 2000 fpm? Could it possibly exceed 160mph in level flight? Could it even go from 0 to 100 in about five seconds? What are the proper adjustments in the aircraft.cfg file? Am I expecting too much?
Advice would be appreciated.
