new smart library for FS9

Postby Aldo Della Vedova » Sat May 25, 2013 4:28 am

Hi to everybody :)
hoping it should be usefull to scenery developpers, I'm opening this new topic ... and sorry for delay
This objects library, made with GMax and without adding new textures :o (using the standard Generic Building), just contents more than hondred models, but it is :arrow: implemented in time. The library is builded for SBuilder but I think can safely be used by other work packages.

Find below the links that refer to the procedure and use the files that allow you to have updates.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/388 ... update.pdf (procedure)
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/388 ... houses.BGL (bgl updated the houses)
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/388 ... others.BGL (bgl updated the other models)
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/388 ... _dva51.jpg (report updated images)
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/388 ... _Codes.txt (codes list with pictures address)

as they are added to other models, I will not fail to report the following information all here let me thank the support received
:violin: Vic Dabor, Renato and GianP, Gianluca and Harry Urben.
good sceneries

I just wondered if they are compatible with the Ez-Scenery Object Library, which also includes all the objects in the default FS 2004 Object Library?
If so, they will be a welcome addition!

Paul....Ez-Scenery and LAGO FSE scenery designers.

P.S. Tunnels will be very welcome!...eg:The dual tunnels over Highway 101, leading from Golden Gate Bridge to Marin County, California!

:) Hi Frozzer/Paul
I don't think any incompatibility with other sceneries/packages/libraries: all these models are created with GMax using the textures already present in the simulator (Generic Buildings system). of course, the used polygons are not very few ... but this is what you can get from "my convent" :D
Thanks in advance for the use feed-back

Hi :)
inform you of some "almost-new" added: the three existing churches, but with the bell tower on opposite hand and a rural house, a little bit dilapidated/without lights
the next
;) Aldo
PS: I thought for any bell tower adding ... without a church, but I'm afraid of low interest, otherwise :arrow: let me know

hello to all :)
to limit the "decay" of the frame-rate , resulting when large use of objects in the scenaries , we had a general revision of the objects of the "library dva51 " , using a LOD ( maximum distance viewing ) different from the standard and variable between 5 and 13.
A big number of models currently in the library (in the two files "obj_LIB_houses.BGL" and "LIB_others.BGL" ) have been updated with the criteria mentioned above, so that the user does not need to do is replace the only two BGL, all your applications made ??will remain unchanged, except for the disappearance of the models at a certain distance (variable between 2.5 and about 5 km ). Note that, before this change, all models become invisible (and thus load the frame-rate of the simulator ) only from much larger distances .
MODIFICATION IS ALREADY OPERATIVE AND APPLIED ON ALMOST ALL MODELS

For those interested, carry a multiplication table that expresses the values ??of the disappearance of a building (30x10 m) obtained from a test work, increasing the elevation :
level disappearance
LOD meters
13 -> 1841
12 -> 2000
11 -> 2185
10 -> 2403
9 -> 2673
8 -> 3011
7 -> 3445
STD
>50000' -> 15065
greeting
;) Aldo

PS: big thank to Mario Noriega :clap: , to the wide availability and the suggestions received
