Hi Doug.
The instructors have always said, if i ever want to take pictures, then to just say so and they will take control and have even taken some pictures of me at the controls. But my best bet is to get them done at the begining of the lessons and at the begining of learning before the real tough stuff starts. as you know flying can be amazingly tiring even for a 1 hour flight, so to be able to take 5 mins break and also get some pics is always a good thing:)
In the end it will be one of those, if the chance comes up to take the pictures i will do so. if not nothing i can do.

I should concentrate on your lesson CraigL! Im sure its not worth all the bother just for one little bit in a bit of Flight simulator scenery!

like i said if the opportunity is there, i will take it. The lesson will be nothing more than a get back into it thing before i move, its been a year since i last flew looking in my logbook, and obviously i would like to have a refresher before i start the bulk.

Don't take too much notice of me. Things have obviously changed a lot since my day. When I worked for a flying club most instruction was in 30 minute lessons. 1 hour would have been considered far too long for the average pupil to take it all in. Working on this principle we had many pupils qualify in the minmum 30 hours. I was ready to go solo after 4 hrs 25 minutes dual.

PS. I already had my gliding licence & taxyed the club aircraft as part of my job which obviously made a difference.

thirty minute lessons would be nice, it would be alot cheaper and could be broken down s as to suit each student better. However 1 hour seems to be the current trend and on my second flight my instructor actually asked if i wanted to continue for a second hour, if i could have afforded it i prob would.

Here is what I have done the last two days, Its taken me ages to get the tower textures even close to looking right - It still looks rubbish :( Im afraid however it will have to do... The macros I am quite pleased with but then I wreck them when I put my textures on :(

Oh well, at least it looks more real then the default bristol....  :(

Looking great. Well done. :D

Maybe when it's finished you could have a shot at Shoreham. I keep threatening to have a go myself but doubt this will ever happen.

ya want to be real accurate there a small blue and glass door in between the 2nd and 3rd lower windows from right(its no big deal really):) and also right next to the BFC is a security gate to allow access for the fire trucks

I guess its not too bad :)

The problem is I am having to make the textures from one pixel off my pictures, I zoom in really far then pick the pixel that looks the most like the overall colour. Then I fill the whole PSP image with that colour and apply texture effects.

This works ok except windows are pretty difficult! But this is the first time of using PSP so Im gaining some useful experiance! The tower was difficult to do because I can't find an effect to do a metallic finish to grey anywhere, I found a chrome variant colour thing but in FS it just looks grey and white. Ill change the glass texture for the tower I think though!

Maybe when it's finished you could have a shot at Shoreham

I was thinking more of retiring ;D - Ill finish this one then think about other things then.

there a small blue and glass door in between the 2nd and 3rd lower windows from right

Ill give that ago! I saw what looks like a turquoise door in my picture but I was'nt sure.. In fact I was going to ask you!

right next to the BFC is a security gate to allow access for the fire trucks

I don't know about these kinds of things, I think that unless they are done really well in scenery they just look messy. If I did that then I would have to do all the little things like that. A, I don't think its worth it considering the amount of work involved and B, It would make too much of an impact on FPS, combined with a decent level of AI at bristol. Perhaps a few vehicles around the place but Im afraid I can't do any more then that.
