Gauge making software

Postby jonnyryder » Sun Apr 18, 2010 8:37 pm

Hi folks, does anyone know a 3rd party software to make gauges for MSFS or Xplane? I came across a company selling a software that basically allow you to design any gauge (independent from MSFS or Xplane) and then run it as a plug in. Similar to Project Magenta. It is something like GL studio but without the price tag. They wanted around 2k to 3k for the whole thing.  I cannot remember the site for the life of me so if anyone knows anything I'd appreciate the help.

I know Abacus makes one for MSFS, you could try looking over there. ;)

I have seen the one from Abacus but it is very limited. The one I'm looking fore allows you to actually make the gauge your own style (not choosing from a library). I.E. if you want to design a new HUD you can or some digital instrument etc.  It was about 3.000 dollars for the license as I remember but cannot find those guys for the life of me.  Thanks for the help anyways.

Have you considered just writing you gauges from scratch? There are some really good tutorials here:

At first I was put off by XML coding but I found I was able to learn it in about three days. I suggest studying an existing gauge that is similar to one that you want to develop to see how it is done.
