Are Microsoft panels too large?

Postby aeroart » Thu Dec 17, 2009 5:10 pm

Is it me or does anyone else think that the instrument panels in default Microsoft aircraft are too big? The panels look like my face is just inches from them.

I've tried to alter panel size, but beyond blundering into how to reduce the size of the gauges, I had no luck altering a panel's background (a bmp graphic?) so the gauges fit well.

Compare a Microsoft panel with that of an aircraft you've downloaded from simviation, fltsim, or CalClassic, and let me know what you think. If you know how to reduce panel size and make it look more realistic, please let me know. I'm not a programmer, but can alter settings in text files, such as panel.cfg.

I suspect you are talking about the 2D panel. This is meant to be in your face so you can see everything in front of you. If you want more realism in the cockpit, use the VC.  ;)
