Cars and Bridges don't mix?

Postby gregj » Sat Aug 15, 2009 9:36 pm

Hey all,

Not a regular poster, but I observe a fair bit. I am using Scenery Solutions Ultimate Terrain for Canada v. 1.0 I fly out of Vancouver International (YVR) and one of the things that ticks me off, is that when you fly over the Lions Gate Bridge, the cars and trucks all go "under the bridge" miraculously floating across the water to the other side.

Is this a flaw in Bridge design? I suppose I could go see Golden Gate bridge and see if that is the case, but thought I would check to see if this happens with others as well. Too Bad, it's the best rendition of Vancouver Scenery I have seen.

BTW...I have TrackIR and FS is a whole new game now.

If you have a question on FSX and/or one of it's addons, you are most likely to get a response in the FSX forum. This is the scenery design forum, where if you were to want to make scenery you would come with questions.

Being payware, the best place to ask would be http://www.simforums.com/forums/, which provides support for Flight1 products, including UTX.

If you went to SF you saw that the default custom bridges do support the traffic, so it's possible. It's all in how the custom bridge, and associated roadway, are designed.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Sounds like the "hard top" hasn't been set on the bridge. This used to be a problem for landing on them in the good old days...
