Gauges not showing up in panel bitmap

Hi all

I am creating a generic panel to full my entire monitor, for my simpit
I have created a bitmap 1024x768 and just coloured it blue.
As a test I have placed one  gauge on the bitmap.
The bitmap shows up in the 2d cockpit and covers the entire screen but the gauge I placed does not show up.

I am using pixia graphics programe to get the co-ordinates  to place the gauges  but I am I missing something else
