well ive been repainting planes for add-os for a while and ive become interested in scenery, what ive wanted to make have been add-on buildings on airports like hangars and etc, I know i need Gmax but how do i position them into the game and do i need to texture them seperatly?

Go to the M$ downloads page for your version of the sim and down load the Gmax SDK and the scenery SDK. I think the .bglcomp is in the scenery SDK if not download it too. I think you also need an Xml editor but there is documentation in one of the above SDKs telling you which.

Basicly you export an XML and .mdl into Scenes folder, copy them into the .Bglcomp_SDK folder. then open and edit the .xml file with location data,  save the .xml file, then drag and drop the .xml onto the bglcomp icon and it produces the .bgl to cut and paste into your scenery folder. This is just how I do it and I am a noobie at Gmax myself so take my advice with however many grains of salt you wish. Most of the documentation is in the SDKs.

Which ever version of the sim you want to design for you must download the SDKs for.  But you must be able to download the SDKs and other documentation. Perhaps have a friend download burn and send you the files?

If your designing for FSX: The FSX SDK cannot be downloaded. It is only available if you purchased FSX-Deluxe.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
