I heard - and I may be wrong because I"m not into scenery - that AFCAD may not be 100% FS-X compatible.  However, since FS-X is backward compatible to FS9 SDK, this may not be a serious limitatio, unless you want to get FS-X only features.

To the scenery gurus, is this correct?

I use FS9 AFCAD2 files in FSX. There is at least a couple of programs that will "convert"
the FS9 files into FSX format BGL's.

Now, as far as creating an airport, AFCAD2 will allow you to create the runways, taxiways,
tarmac, Navaids and Comm freqs for an airport but it will not add any structures.

For tower and terminal buildings, hangars, fences, etc you will need a scenery creation
tool or two. Again, there are several FSX-compatible tools out there. Search around.

Once you create the AFCAD BGL and convert it, then go on to add the actual scenery
stuff with the scenery design tools.
