Floating runway

Postby PisTon » Thu Jun 01, 2006 10:54 am

Hello everyone :)

I am designing an airport for Flightsimulator, and am wondering how I make the runway stop sticking underground, and floating.

here are two pictures:

2:http://www.simviation.com/yabbuploads/fs9%202006-06-02%2001-48-52-28.jpg

So, have I done something wrong?
Do I need level ground?
Can you please direct me to a terrain leveling program or similar?

Thanks :)

EDIT:
Could a scenerey.cfg edit fix it:
[Area.158]
Title=xxxxx
Local=xxxx
Remote=
Required=xxxx
Active=xx
Layer=xxxx
Exclude=xxxxxxxl
Flatten.0=2181.1,N36 06.17,W115 10.51,N36 06.17,W115 06.95,N36 04.06,W115 06.95,N36 04.06,W115 10.51
?

What scenery design program are you using?

From the pictures, it looks like the "Flatten Area" is not there, in the wrong place or you didn't add one properly.

When you set the ground elevation or add a "Flatten Area", check it to make sure it is in the correct spot.

Then when adding ground runways, ground textures etc., I always set them at .01 or .02, this helped eliminate any "flicker" issue with the ground.

FlattEx might help.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
