Helipad Lighting

Postby Capt._Viper » Tue Apr 18, 2006 11:07 pm

I have just installed AFCAD V2 and so far I like the results.  My beef is no matter what is done, I can not get the lights around the pad I just placed.
It makes night landing VERY Hairry :(

Did you place strings of apron lights around the pad?

Helipads, like aprons, do not have lighting associated with them thus they must be placed manually.

AF2's 'el-key' that's l toggles night view off and on so any lighting can be viewed before saving, Use the apron strip lighting icon (third from left at top righthand) to add as much lighting strips as required.

I should say that the lights don't show up in the simulator after restart. :-[

Try raising their height above the ground by a few yards.  That should hop them up real high, in case they're buried beneath the ground layer.

Do they show up in Afcad? ( 'L' key to toggle 'show lights')

Do other ground lights, apron, runway and taxiway, show up in the simulator?

Yeah, they do. The reason I'm doing this is that it is real close to where I live.

P.S. How do I raise the height of the lights

There is no adjustment to height, I think its tied to terrain elevation.

Check the brightness, should be 13 or greater.

If all other ground lighting is showing up at your airports I'm not sure what the problem is.

If you like, you can email the afcad to me and I'll have a look.
