Birdman if you can get this together it will be a great help to a lot of people, I know when I first started looking at scenery design (and Im still just starting) it is a minefield.
Its okay using tutorials, but the question to the newbie is tutorials for which programs?
What do I need to learn? Nowhere it seems puts all the available software into some sort of co-ordinated guide suggesting what you should use for your chosen type of scenery and Flightsim.
For instance, should I wish to make VFR scenery objects such as power stations and place them in FS9, then there is no point in somebody telling me I need AFCAD.
The best effort I have seen to explain this so far is as you said on scenery.org, but more specifically its probably worth downloading the file:
Scenery Design White paper for FS2000 and Airport 2.10 This (*.zip) html-document reflects the current state of knowledge about scenery design with APT2.10 for FS2000 as collected by the authors and by messages in the scenery design forum of flightsim.com. From: Martin Wright, Andreas Klisch, Ralf-J. Triebel. This is required reading for scenery creation in FS2000. sdw1.zip (1.83mb)
