Another "need help getting started" thread

My apologies for bringing another "noob" question here, but I'm rather new around these parts and really struggling to know what I need to do here.

I've been a casual FS player for several years now, but only recently did I find myself getting more and more involved with the behind the scenes aspect of the program.  Last year I started fooling around with AI flights and a/c, and then "tweeking" airport layouts with AFCAD.

Well, now I find that out of necessity I need to learn how to "fix" a custom airport.  Essentially, I have an airport that someone did that looks Terrific!!  There's only one problem.  When this person created the new airport, he put it in the wrong place, and missing a runway!  But the terminal area looks very nice indeed.

So here's my dilema.  I want to remove everything from the custom scenery *except* the terminal area and then possibly have to move that to the correct location.  See, I already fixed the runways and such that were in the default scenery... FS9 was missing a runway and several taxiways before... but it got much worse after I added the scenery file (everything but the terminal, that is )

So after all of my ramblings... is there someone out there who can shed some light on this matter for me?  Where do I start?
