Question for all designers.

I have been looking for ever for a decent freeware FMC gauge and so far nobody has produced a good one.  Now, here is my question.
Since there have been several INS guages produced for FS how difficult could it possibly be to create a DLL which could associate ICAO identifiers with their geopgraphical co-ordinates to allow LNAV flight planning in the same way an INS gauge does? And, why could it not be displayed and operated using an FMC look alike bitmap?  I am sure it's technilogically possible and I am sure somebody has the coding ability to make a gauge package like this.  I can't imagine that nobody has thought about this.
