Macros & FSSC

Postby tiger63 » Thu Jul 01, 2004 8:41 pm

I have a few questions about macros together with FSSC.

1. How do you control Parameters 1-5? THis especially relates Martin Wright's active movement macros which use certain parameters to define how they act.

2. Is there a way to use CFS2 macros in CFS?

3. Is there a way to turn crash-detect on for macros?

Thanks, Will

Someone like Fireman will give you the best advice on all this. The FSSC macro Parameters start at 6 instead of 1 for some reason. I'm not certain quite how they relate. I know they work as I've used the active macros successfully myself.*

I'm not sure if CFS2 macros would work in CFS1. The only way to find out would be to try them. The textures might need reformatting to display.

*PS. If I can find my old source files I'll check them out to see how it's done.

PPS. Detailed airfield scenery looks very nice but is not really practical for use in missions. I prefer to keep it simple with just a basic field & runway like the defaults. I always thought that using library objects in the missions is the best way to add the buildings, aircraft & other static objects to CFS airfields. These will have proper DP files & show damage if you hit them. You can change the look of the base in each mission (or even during the mission) if you wish.

I really agree with you about using the objects library in missions for scenery but there's some things I just haven't found a object library for. (B-29s,Corsairs,etc.) I've tried to convert macros to objects but i haven't been able to figure it out. Thanks

If your using EOD, then you just have to tick the Crash Control box 8)

Maybe there is a way by editing the macro in Notepad, but I haven't tried that, so I'm not 100% sure ???

Another way would be to create a macro, give it transparent textures, and place it in the same place as the other macro, that way you wouldn't be crashing into the textured macro, but the invisible one inside it.

That is the general idea, but what's the point in having buildings if you can fly straight through them ;D
