Flying Polygons

Postby TJ_Gumby » Sun Mar 31, 2002 6:47 pm

I'm doing an add-on for an airport in FS2002 with Airport 2.60, i'm almost finished and I'm getting these polygons of light streaking around like ghosts when I fly over the scenery. What's worse is when I fly at night and I see one of them flash by, my pc locks up and I have to push the forbidden button. Anyone know what's causing this?

Aliens? It sounds like you got UFO's there. Sounds quite good as it is. Apart from having to reset.

Could you post a shot so we can see whats going on?

Well i've been doing some more testing and it was Paul Harmons clearpad.api which was actually designed for CFS1, but despite it causing one error message during compilation, it was working really good. It must of been that error message trying to telling me not to use that pad. Its a shame I had to remove it but the flying polys are gone. Unfortunatly the seize ups are not! It's only at night and only when turning sharp, like in a helicopter or taxiing. I'm thinking it might be the frame rate going too low as this scenery has ALOT of macros. Any thoughts?

There is a tut on frame rates in the help section. Might be worth taking a look at.

Hi
Have you tryed the latest ver of the scasm 2.86
from here http://www.scasm.de/
there are some changes or additions for FS2K2

As for the lockups what I do is set each type of macro to a different scenery level then run

I think the macro that was causing the problems has corrupted something in FS2002 as i'm now getting lock ups in completely different scenerys, default as well. It looks as though I may have to do a re-install.

Hey to all,
I came across this forum item while looking for inputs to solve my problem with flying objects in CFS1. The objects are part of an addon library.
I remember having read about this phenomena in some tutorials - but I cannot remember where.
But I know that the prob can be solved by editing the scasm file. So this is a question for scasm fiddlers.
