why do repaints not show?

What repaints???...Where???


If you want an answer you need to ask a proper question with some facts as to what is not happened with what ever you're trying to do.

Then we almost certainly we have the answer

My guess would be that you haven't edited the appropriate "aircraft.cfg" file. The FSX SDK tutorials have all that info, or ask us.

OR, you saved the textures with an all black alpha. If the texture file doesn't have the _t suffix it will appear completely transparent, invisible.
