Repaint causes FS9 to crash

Hey guys.
I've done a repaint and when I select it in the FS it crashes for some unapparent reason. I've had a look at all 70 pages in the aircraft painting forum and all suggestions have tried and failed.

Ok here's the lowdown. I'm an absolute noob at painting and I wanted to do a posky 777 since I couldn't a PAL texture that would work, so I followed a video from youtube posted by flightsimy called "(HQ) how to repiant aircrafts for flightsim [part1]"

I followed it up to the point where he finishes the actual paint. At which point I open the files in DXTBmp, do the alphas, uncheck mipmaps and save as DXT3 but I have tried saving them as Extended 32 bit 888-8. I put them into a texture folder in a pre-existing posky 777 file and changed the aircraft.cfg (the default is the Qatar):

[fltsim.0]
title=Project Opensky -- Boeing 777-300ER Qatar Airways
sim=Boeing 777-300ER
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=QATAR
checklists=
atc_airline=QATAR
atc_id=A7-BAE
atc_flight_number=232
atc_heavy=1
atc_parking_types=GATE,RAMP,CARGO
atc_parking_codes=QTR
ui_manufacturer=Boeing
ui_type=777-300ER
ui_variation=Qatar Airways
visual_damage=1
description=Project Opensky Boeing 777-300\nVersion 2-2008.1.0\n\nModel Designers\n

I don't know for sure, but here's my suggestions:

1. Make the texture files only lowercase on both the folder names and cfg.
2. Don't put anything for the atc_airline one.
3.either get rid of or leave blank the at_parking_codes line.
4. Change the visual damge to 0 instead of 1.
5.  Make sure you have all the neccesary texture files like bumpmaps and all if you're making it as a new aircraft.
6. Change the 0 and 1 in [flightsim.] to the next available number instead of 0 and 1 if there are other paints.

Good luck getting it fixed!

don't bother, .cfg files and folder names are not case sensitive.

2. Don't put anything for the atc_airline one.
3.either get rid of or leave blank the at_parking_codes line.
Neither of these have anything to do with textures.

4. Change the visual damge to 0 instead of 1.
This only matters if you crash the plane, not the sim. And then only if the developer included a crash .mdl

Well its taken some time but I've got results...
The textures only work when they are placed in the original posky texture folder.
But thanks for the help guys  :)
