Here is what I come up with for your repaint. I feel it's pretty close to the pic you provided, but I'll let you be the judge of that. ;)

Let me know what you think. I'll be starting on the other one tomorrow.

That looks great! If it is at all possible (no need to over do it), could you add a serial number to it? I'm going to go do some research and find one that has some history behind it. Only other thing is if the radome could be painted the same as the panel above the finflash and number.

Thanks again!  :)

That's no problem on the radome. And just let me know what registration you want on it. I do need to move the tail flash down and back a little anyway. ;)

thats a pretty cool work! just may be if you add some more details to the rocket wings and if possible little more metalic feel on the paint.. so far well done! :))

The registration number is 17126.

That second sim shot looks great!
If I might offer some mild criticism: you have too much white in the flag and roundels. In the flag, all three bands have the same thickness, while in the roundel, the white is much thinner.
I don't know if this model allows it, but playing with alphachannel may give you a bit more bare metal.
Which model is this, btw?

Please, critisize away! :) That's the only way I'm gonna get better at doing these. ;) And I do appreciate it.
It's the Gmax acadamy Mig-21Bis. Yes, the alpha definately needs to be tweaked, when the sunlight hits this plane at certain angles, the whole thing glares white. The roundrel on the fuselage is directly off the photo,I think I just stretched it too much, I see what you're talking about.  The tail flash is modified from what was already there, and I really need to tweak that a little and make it smaller and move it down and backwards a little.
I didn't discover that the package comes with a paint kit until after I had already made it this far into it. :-[
It does come with all the needed alpha channels and 7 or so other paint schemes.
For getting the alpha to be less glared, do I need to darken or lighten it?
But even without the alpha on it, it's still not very metallic looking so I may have to take ananiev up on his offer for the metallic textures, and any advice you may have for achieving the bare metal look like what's in that photo would be much appreciated.
Thanks again! :)

Excellent! I wish I could paint like that. The weathering is honestly some of the best I've seen! :o

Wish I could take the credit for that one, but alas, I cannot, that would be the excellent work of the GMax Acadamy repainters. My work resides only in the logo and a bit of color work. Although, after studying a few of the many paint kits I've aquired now, I believe I know how they do it and am just about ready to give it a go on a nice clean model. ;)
