I've been commisioned to do a repaint for a Virtual airline, and all is going well. Fixed some rather large issues, but one is really causing me headaches.

Image

These lines do not show up when painting, they only appear on the model. any ideas as to what they could be and how to remove them, as it looks really bad and the va are unlikely to sign off this specific plane repaint with this glitch!!!

Cheers

Ah, another problem. The text on one side of the plane is reversed, how do i resolve this, as text on one side is fine and all that

As nobody else has answered I'll have a go. I suspect the 2 problems are related. That looks like the position of the decal on the default 747 to me. (decal_b747_400.bmp) I think the idea is to paint the text on the decal so it displays correctly on both sides of the fuselage. Check out the default textures.

Thanks ever so much, i have found the right file and i copied the text, but instead of vertically, i wanted it Horizontally, but here is the result

If anyone can help me resolve this, i would be very grateful. I can provide any other images, including this decal if this helps explain my predicament further!!!

I can't read the logo. It only covers a limited area so try using a smaller font size. What does it say anyway?

You must treat it as an "Alpha!"
Image
Copy one from the main 747 textures...The re-paint one is rotated!
Use DXT bmp and make it a "Targa"...Export the 'Alpha'.....do your editing then resave using DXT bmp as DXT 1...Add the 'Alpha'.
All is good...
