how do I stop details blurring?

I've been doing a repaint on the Lancaster , but all the detailing is blurring , really annoying .
how do you keep the detail crisp ( rivots etc? )
using psp 6 and saving in DXT 3 .
Been awhile since I've been doin this , things are different now LOL.
