I have recently upgraded my video card from an FX5500 to a 7600GS which also required a driver upgrade. Since doingthe driver upgrade FSrepaint no longer works. I get error message no suitable 3d device found. I also had the same problem with my FX5500 card if i used a driver after version 84.21 unfortunitly the 7600GS will not work with the 84.21 driver. It requires a more up to date driver. Any ideas PLEASE????????

Do you get this message when opening up FS Repaint or when trying to open a model for repaininting?

If you get the error message when opening a model, close FS Repaint, reopen, and then BEFORE trying to open a model for repainting, set your renderer to be "software".  Do you still get the message?

Have you tried re-installing FSRepaint after the driver update?

It happens when FSrepaint is opened. Apparently There has been a change in the driver that is causing the problem but thought there maybe an update to fix it from abacus or a new version out. Unfortunitly my new card won't work with the 84.21 drivers. I could not find the info in the release notes Nvidia was referring to. Does this mean that FSRepaint is no longer a usable program for me and a lot of other users
This is the reply i received from nvidia.

Thank you for contacting NVIDIA Customer Care.

We recommend you to please revert back to Forceware version 84.21 since, the issue you cite is already noted in the release notes and will be fixed at an undisclosed date in the future.

Please visit the link below to download Forceware 84.21 versions.

Write to Abacus with this information.

They may be able to ask the developer to look into this, but from the Nvidia reply, it appears to have been they forgot something in their new drivers.

It would be interesting to hear from other FSRePaint users to see if they are having similar problems or have found a way of working around it.

I am an FSRepaint user and you are about to hear from me . . .  :)

I have not updated my NVidia drivers but this DOES make a point which I've posted here many times:

The latest videocard drivers are not to be confused with the best videocard drivers

"Good is ofttimes the enemy of the best."
P.S. My FSRepaint is working just fine, as I patiently await the FSX upgrade.

True statement - I can't run FS-X with the latest ATI drivers from my card, but reasonably fine with an "older" set.

On behalf of Felix:

"For the nVidia problems, check your version of FSRepaint.  The latest
version is FS Repaint! version 1.23, fixing most problems with the
latest nVidia drivers.  Note that, from what I understand, some nVidia
users with new drivers *may* still have some problems and Abacus is
still looking into this.

If you have any questions on how to get the latest version, send an e-
mail to Adam Howe at adam@abacus.com"
