I have some layered psd aircraft texture files I want to re-paint. After I flatten the image to save, what format do I save in to open the file in DXTBmp for saving? I have tried a few formats and I either get a blurred or scrambled image. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Open the PSD in Imagetool instead! DXTBMP cant open .psd, but imagetool can  :D

Download it here:

I use PhotoShop with FSRepaint for my repaints. After editing (repainting) using Multiply layers (S)ave your work in PSD format (to keep all your layers and PhotoShop edits intact)

(S)ave the first-test of the new creation as *.BMP in either 24 (there is a default icon in PSD for this) or 32bit Extended if this is the format of the original paintkit. Most high-end paintkits come in BMP Extended 32bit format (large but detailed files).

Once the newrepaint.BMP file is Saved, bring it into DXTbmp if one wants to convert it to another format like DXT3

If one is using 32bit Extended BMP format in FS9, no conversion is required.

Thus, when I'm repainting an FS9 aircraft PhotoShop; FSRepaint and DXTbmp are ALL open. I only use Extended BMP format-DXT3 for all my FS9 exterior work.

P.S. "After I flatten the image to save . . . "
