I am making a repaint for a war bird, but the model I am using has bombs slung under the wings, the paint I am making is for an air racing version, which obviously wouldnt have bombs.... lol

Is there any specific colour I can 'paint' the bombs and the pylons to make them invisible?

any help will be much appreciated

I don't think it's as easy as that. Even if you use fully transparent textures the parts underneath will still display. Unless you're very lucky the only way would be for the author to modify the visual model.

d'oh. I was afriad you would say that, I will try and get in contact with him then. Thanks for the quick response!

I remember the good old days of making textures for TOCA touring cars, where solid, pure black would make parts invisible... made for some interesting designs... ;)

This example uses black in the Alpha channel. It depends upon the model & filetypes in question. This alpha-method also works with the Hovercontrol 412 paintkit.

I don't have the model to which you refer so cannot comment further.

hi wji, thanks for the tip, however with this specific model, painting the parts black in the alpha channel just made them really really shiney! :D lol. I have got round this problem now anyway so it doesnt matter :)

Thanks anyway!
