Adding Realism

Postby cdn_beaver » Thu May 18, 2006 9:01 am

Hello,

Ive finished my first complete aircraft repaint.  Its pretty basic.  Its painted closly to the aircraft operated by Northern Wilderness in Armstron/Thunder Bay Ontario.

Ive got the basic painting down, but now Id like to make it look used, abused, and weathered.  Can anybody point me in the right direction on how to add oil stains, dirt, etc. to give more realism to the aircraft?

Thanks for the help.

I asked the same question a while back and got quite a few responses, hopefully my thread will help you :)

Nice job on the Otter, Mark . . . I particularly like the striping. Not the easiest part of any repaint.

well you can add airbrush strokes to the parts that you want to be worn (a slight shade darker than the orange) and add some green to the floats to look like it has been used alot
