1+1=2?

Hello,

I was just curious if anybody could recommend a technique...

The aircraft that Im currently trying repaint has the fuslage split in two parts.  Fore and aft.  How can I make stripes line up on both sections?

I guess a Picture is worth a thousand words.  The pic below is what Im currently repainting.  The forward fuselage is at the top, and the aft fuselage is at the bottom.  How can I make the stripes line up perfectly between the two parts?

I hope this makes sense.

Also, How can I get rid of the insignias?

Thanks for the help.

Well, for the insignias, your best option is to get down real close and start doing detail work.  Pull individual pixels (or small groups of them) off the edges near the insignias and line them up so they all look the same.  Its a bit time consuming, which is why blank textures are in high demand.  Everyone wants that special repaint, but the textures are always hard to clear.

As for the lining up, I tend to take a stranger approach than most.  Create a blank image that is twice as wide as the one you are working on (if its 1024x1024, make a 2048x1024), then cut and paste both halves of the aircraft onto the new one.  Now line them up, making sure you mark the division line between the originals.  Create your lines on this one and then simply clip and paste into the original file.  Line everything up right, and it'll work.

"How can I make stripes line up on both sections?"
Very carefully  :D
Actually, you image shows Left & Righthand sides but I get your meanin'
Using Grid or rulers can indicate the position of objects depending upon which Paintprog you use; at the end of the day, it's pretty much trail&error.

Using FSRepaint to view your work make viewing your changes pretty simple (did I say quickly?)

"Also, How can I get rid of the insignias?"
Create a new Layer and name it COVER
Copy and paste a texture block from the Backround image with the same texture; feather it one pixel before Copy and it will match pretty good
