Having a problem with fonts, Some seem to show up better than others and some appear more blurry. Im using the stock Fonts that came with PSPX. I've tried some different settings for the font but they still seem blurry. I've got to be missing something as some A/C repaints I have D/l and installed seem crystal clear and sharp. At my witts end. Any help is appreciated

Thanks again

" . . .  any help is appreciated."

Question:
1.) In which format are you saving your repainted texture(s)?
2.) In which format are you Saving Extended BMP?

IMO, idealy, answer one is 32bit and two is DXT3

P.S. Good paintkits come in 32bit Extended format for repainting; if one has unlimited computer resources, they can be used in FS9 at this level.

Yepper you nailed it. When I was saving to a BMP I was only saving as a 8 bit BMP. Alsthough I cant seem to find the 32 bit you are talking about there is a 16 bit in PSPX which made a big difference. And I have been using the DXT3 format. Thanks again wji.

The simple things always get me

Well, there ya go . . .

Don't be fooled by *.BMP Extended file formats. Some systems and cards can handle some formats better  than others.

Some PAI planes come with DXT1 repaints; my system doesn't like them (blurries) so I convert everything to DXT3 (for aircraft -- scenery is handled differently)

If a texture file is 4MB in size it's 32bit Extended -- I convert those to 1MB DXT3, too. But, as already noted, the higher resolution is what is required for repainting (no loss of detail when saving)
