my repaints crash FS2004

Well I recently repainted a Cherokee 6, and I can't load it in  FS2004, and when I select it, it will not show up in the menu,

There could be many different things wrong here.

I didnt modify the file, I just repainted all the files in the default texture folder of the aircraft (I backed up the old files of course)..
I saved in 24 bitmap I believe.

Well, the important thing is to know whether they were saved that way ORIGINALLY.  If not, then you need to figure out exactly what they were saved as, and resave them.  If you did save them correctly, then FS is having trouble finding them.  That means something is wonky with your naming system.

What did you name the folder you put the textures in?

How do I save as 8 bit BMP in photoshop?  It won't let me select it as an option.

This is the problem. You need to convert the 24 bit images to an FS texture format. I would recommend DXTBmp for this job. It might help if you read Cspyro's recent topic here. http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=repnt;action=display;num=1131308021

LOL ye...
DXTBMP is a very handy program and I certainly recommend you to download it. However, you don't need it.
When you select the indexed colour mode, photoshop wil usually select the best "sub-type" for you. If you don't like what happens to your textures you can try playing around with the different types of indexed colour a bit. Just make sure you don't use more colours than 256.
When you are happy with the result just select "save as" (from the file menu) and then select 8 bit BMP.

DANG
8 bit no work
32 bit, everything works except body, then the game crashes after about 30 seconds
