I do not see the file. View it in DXT firt and check the file format is correct; i.e., not 24 bit or below. Most models require 32bit or DXT files.

P.S. Aircraft model name? Screenshots?

Have you added an entry in your cfg file for that aircraft. each repaint needs its own entry.

If thats it i'll go into more detail on what needs to be there, what should be unique etc...

ok few questions to clarify

Does your repaint show up on the FS menu, but with no textures, or is it not there at all?

ok looks like its either

1) you have put the wrong name on the texture= line (remember this is case sensitive)

2) wrong texture format - must be either dxt3 or 32bit (or 8 bit - 256 colour) Use dxtbmp, or imagetool to convert - i can get you links if you havnt already got these.

Hi Ijorsky

Thanks   Perhaps my problem is that' I don't fully understand the flow of prossedures too get the textures to show on the aircraft. However I'm determind to do so. I'm sure that I need a few lessens in doing textures. So I'm up for any help in that department. Is there a site that teaches repainting?

Thanks for the repaints imfo wji. Another problem might be that I do the texturse to stron for my pc ,as other ac don't show textures, and the screen staggers at those time. perhaps an upgrade will be in order before i get back into doing repaints again. will get back to you on it    thanks.

I don't think this is correct. Most CFG file entries are not case-sensitive.

Different FS texture formats will suit different systems. What works for me might not necessarily be the same for you. This might also depend on the complexity of the aircraft model or the number of textures & nothing to do with the texture format itself. You could try repainting one of the default aircraft to get the general idea before going on to more advanced things. If you know how to add a repaint to Aircraft.cfg as a new variation of the aircraft the main thing to remember is to use a proper FS BMP format & the correct texture file names.
