i have photoshop 7, and i would like to know how to do bare metal finishes.

I submit bare-metal textures are artistic creations like any other visual effect. (To create chrome make the blacks 100 percent opacity) before converting to DXT3.

handpainting bare metal is art, not dumping a crapload of alpha all over the bitmaps
bare metal is among the hardest (if not the hardest) things to be good at

Turbo - now start varying the opacity of the alpha until you get the "sheen" you want....
