Add Dirty Mask - How?!?

;) :D ;D :)

Hi guys!

I'm repainting this airplane and I noticed she is too white, a lil unreal for my taste, so I decided to make her become "dirty", really dirty as a plane with extensive use is.
But I dunno how to create step-by-step some sort of "mask of dirty" for her....or a layer that I can paste over the plane body in order to make her as real as possible.
Can some1 teach how to this?
Thanks in advance!

cya.

lol i tried psp9 and i didnt think alot of it,
I use psp8 but im more familier with it....

Ugg this is what i can think off....

Right,
Find yourself some grunge brushes, very usefull.

+ Use multiple colours on different layers use the effects such as hardlighting or multiply, to allow the original panel marks to come through.

+ Use Gaussier Blur when neciserry, sometimes it ruins the effect.

+ Sometimes using the Histogram can help things, but duplicate the object before, and then use hardlighting etc..

+ Use grunge brush's as either a eraser or a paintbrush.
This will give you the weathered effect aswell as the dirty effect.

+ Green's and Browns, sometimes can help bring out the dirt.

+ Cream colour can be used on the fuse to bring out a dirty and none perfect white colour, might be a idea to use grunge brush's and erase bits of the cream colour, and use the transparency settings.
