I recently started repainting aircraft. I managed to repaint one of my favorite airplanes, but when I used it for flying, the lettering, stripes, insignias, etc were very blurry ??? Can anyone point me in the right direction. Thnx! ;D

Blurryness of textures can be down to a couple of things, Mips, which can be removed in imagetool (or chosen not to be put in by DXTbmp in the first place); and a funny thing in FS9 that makes aicraft blurry sometimes, the fix (temporary) being to zoom in to the max, and back out again.

In the FS9 its self and some downloads are blurry textrues too; how do I clear these up?  Why do some down loads look so good in their photos, but when I down load them they are blurry too.?
Can any one help me clear up the blurrry textures, or must they be repainted to become clear?
Any helps here?

Thanks if Can, JFG

Theres no specific cure that I know of. There are ways to help stop the blurryness. You can remove the MIP levels from the textures. To do this

1) Get DXTbmp if you dont have it already

(http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/do ... xtbmpx.EXE)

2) Open a single texture file from the aircraft you wish to remove mips from. (you may wish just to do the important section, eg wing, tail and fuselage)

3) Make sure the option in DXTbmp for mips is turned OFF (this is on the prefs menu in the older version. and on its own panel on the right hand side in the newer version)

4) Then save this image
Old version:File > Save Extended Bitmap,
