Im working on a christmas repaint, on the default 747, simply so that its accessible to all FS9 users and fairly easy to make. However! i'm having a problem with the small texture that puts the side logos on. If anyone can explain the correct process to save this file then it would be much appreciated. I want it transparent, except for the text, as i believe this is how the default ones are done.

Have you tried painting the background pure green and saving the bitmap in DXTBmp with a Pure Green Alpha Channel?

Maybe it'll work... Never tried it before
