workings of my 2nd repaint

Postby wh1skea » Sun Nov 14, 2004 11:27 pm

Well, as the old saying goes....practice makes perfect.  So, I've started on my 2nd repaint.  It is the default DC-3, painted the traditional WW2 green and gray with D-Day invasion stripes.  I was kinda surprised.  I looked and only seemed to find one D-Day C-47 repaint.  And it was a straight drab with markings.  So, I decided to go with the green on gray.

Here are some WIP screenshots:

I know I still need to paint the antennae on top and move the black for the leading edge of the wing, but any suggestions before I start applying the markings?

Perhaps experiment with some erosion of the paint at the leading edges behind the props, and the nose of the aircraft. Nothing ovewhelming, but just a hint, just enough that you have to look for it. it is things like that that turn repaints into great repaints.

Not saying I'm any good at that sort of thing, but I'm just suggesting. :D

Thanks, I'll give it a shot.

Thats why I posted, so I could get some feedback.  Granted, I'm not that great, but with practice and feedback, I can work on it.
