I tend to like the Paint Shop Pro series, my favorite being version 7.  Nice user interface and many different options, once you learn to use layers.

For a good painting tutorial, check my signature. :)

I use PSP7 myself but unless you can find a full early version on a cover disc it isn't free. The free trial PSP8 has a time limit & if you like it you will be fixed when it expires. You might like to try Pixia http://park18.wakwak.com/~pixia/ or PhotoPlus 5.5. http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/serif/ph/ph5/index.asp

Both are full free image editing software with all the advanced features ideal for repainting textures. The Photoplus user interface & tool options are similar to PSP.

yeah pixia is prob one of the best freeware paint programs out.

the reason your picture did not show up is because tripod do not support linking to their images...try uploading the image to this site via the forum upload page and try that way..

hope this helps

I don't think so, but have a look on Pixia's homepage, there are some links to various sites, maybe there is something on one of them :)
