Does FS2002 Standard not support repainted planes?

Hello

I have been tearing my hair out for the last couple of days trying to make a repaint show up in FS2002. I did a repaint of the default 737-400 (no problems there) and followed all the instructions but when I come to fly it, it doesn't show up at all in Flight Sim. I made sure I got the cfg info right and I also made sure that the texture is the same name as the original.

I am at a loss, and if repainting is always going to be this hard I think I'll give up trying. Please help!!

(I have MSPaint and DXTbmp)

Hi Fettler. I've never tried FS2002 Standard but there's no reason it should be any different to any other M$ sim. Make sure you configured everything correctly & that the textures are in the correct format. The new Aircraft.cfg entries must be done properly for the new variation to show up. It's easy to make a small mistake. Make sure the new Texture folder follows the FS folder naming conventions. The new folder can have any name you wish providing it starts with Texture. including the period. The part of the folder name following the period is what you add to the new texture= line in the CFG.

My walkthrough might help. http://www.simviation.com/lair/Repaint2002.htm

Thanks very much Hagar. I followed your excellent article and it worked!

Once again, thanks for taking the trouble to help me.

Some time in the future, I would like to upload my repaints onto Simviation (It's not good to be a gimme monkey all the time is it?)

Many thanks
