Meljet Paintkits

Postby suburbanboston » Mon Sep 01, 2003 12:29 pm

I downloaded the Meljet paint kit for the model 3 747.  The PSD files(Photoshop format) which came in a seperate folder I did some repainting to and wanted to check it out on FS.  The original texture folder contains other textures as well.  I tried taking the original textures out and placing the paintkit files in, and the plane came out blank.  What do I need to do from here, in order to get the new textures to exist on the aircraft?? ???

You have to convert them to the correct format that the aircraft uses, one that has alpha channeling.

If you have FS2k2 Pro edition, go look in the Gmax section under "File" and find a program called "imagetool".  Open this up and play around with it and you should get what you are looking for.
