I'm repainting a POSKY 747, and according to their FAQ, if the image appears blurry in F$, turn off mip maps. How exactly do I do that? lol
Thanks!

If you are using DXTBMP by martin wright, before loading the texture file into dxtbmp, change the prefs sectionand uncheck the 'include mips' part.
Now load the texture..send it to psp to edit it, reload after edit and then save as dxt3 or whatever. You will now have the texture file saved with no mipmaps.

lol now I'm going to have to learn how to use DXTBMP? Good grief. lol
That's here on SimV, right? We may be going home early from work today (Water main break and no A/C), so that may give me something to do this afternoon.
Thanks!
PS...Can I do that after I've painted the texture?

DXTbmp is easy to use....
1. Open dxtbmp.
2. Select your editor program - under the prefs tab.
3. Uncheck the include mips tag - under the prefs tab.
4. Open the chosen file that you want to repaint.
Generally all new aircraft are using DXT3 format, so use the load extended image option to load up your texture file. In the botton left you will see the image name and the size info and format info. send this image to your editor(under image -send to editor tab), ie paint shop pro etc........the image in your editor will appear as norm.bmp. when you have finished changing/painting, make sure you save the file as the same name, norm.bmp. Go back to your dxtbmp window.
5. reload your image back into dxtbmp - image - reload after edit.
6. now save your image, using the same name as it appeared in the bottom left and as a dxt3 format.
check your email, have sent you the dxtbmp executable.

Yep, I saw that thanks. Unfortunately, they fixed the problems with the building, and we're stuck here all day now, so I won't get to do it til tonight.
However, they're not sure if the fix is permanent or not, so we'll have to call tomorrow to see if the building is open or not.
I tell ya, some companies suck. haha
