Is there a tutorial for FSDS2 showing how to make and apply new texture to a new project? I'm not having much luck finding one,even a link that will lead me to it.

It's in the FSDS help files...

but you're right  there isn't a "quick and dirty" step by step to creating a texture template and applying it to a part....
