Sure.
DXTBMP for repainting, and Gmax for making your add ons.
DXTBMP is a lite, cool and powerful tool, and Gmax is hard, large, but cool and very powerful.

Just to clarify. DXTBmp is an excellent utility & ideal for converting many FS aircraft texture formats ready for editing. You will also need a graphics editor to use in conjunction with it. M$ Paint (included with all versions of Windows) will do if you have nothing better.

Erez. IrfanView is a fine utility suitable for many purposes but it's not a graphics editor. It would be no use for repainting. If you need a good free graphics editor try Pixia posted in the SimV Design sections. PhotoPlus5 is another exellent free program, similar to PSP. http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/serif/ph/ph5/index.asp?

Yeah, you are right about Pixia, nice program I nearly started using it before I saw Photoshop 7 on the store.
Doing a good repaint depends on two things. 1st, how much you want to invest on it, and 2nd, a good picture editor. I love to repaint, and the first one I made was actually started with MS paint, but I knew that it ain't good enough, and I wanted the most powerful tool, and got it (wasting money but it's worth it).
