repainting

Postby N6GK » Tue Jan 14, 2014 12:12 pm

I am just starting to repaint, iam using paint.net and DXTBmp. I can make changes on existing planes or I can paint a white livery. My problem is I can load it into the airplane section, but when i want to load it into a flight plan it only cone up as a white plane if i use a white livery,

if you make a repaint for a plane, copy and texture the withe fltsim in the aircraft.cfg an number it than 1 in the [fltsim=0] and set behind: texture=, flightnumber=. the information of the repaint and than can you load the variation.

You have to add another [fltsim=xx] section to the Aircraft.cfg file, with a different texture= line, a different name and variation= lines.
I take and copy the [fltsim=0] section to the bottom of the whole fltsim area, give it the next number in line, rename it, give it the texture name and bingo, gtg...

IE: [fltsim.0]
title=Bell UH-1H Huey
sim=Bell_UH-1H
model=1
panel=1
sound=
texture=1
kb_checklists=Bell_UH-1H_check
kb_reference=Bell_UH-1H_ref
prop_anim_ratio=-1.76
atc_id_color=0xc6eff7ff
atc_id=HC0001

atc_model=
ui_manufacturer=Bell
ui_type=UH-1H Huey
ui_variation=Commercial Tan
description=FS2002 Aircraft by Jordan Moore\n\nOne of the most recognized helicopters in the history of rotoray aviation. Mostly due to its prominant role in the Vietnam War and extensive post-war commercial use. The Huey was one of the first light helicopters able to carry significant internal payloads due to its unique cabin design and over-head mounted gas-turbine power plant.
atc_flight_number=
atc_heavy=0
atc_airline=
.
.
.

[fltsim.5]
title=Bell UH-1H Huey new repaint<---------------**
sim=Bell_UH-1H
model=1
panel=1
sound=
texture=new<--------------------**
kb_checklists=Bell_UH-1H_check
kb_reference=Bell_UH-1H_ref
prop_anim_ratio=-1.76
atc_id_color=0xc6eff7ff
atc_id=HC0001

atc_model=
ui_manufacturer=Bell
ui_type=UH-1H Huey
ui_variation=Commercial RED <-----------**
description=FS2002 Aircraft by Jordan Moore\n\nOne of the most recognized helicopters in the history of rotoray aviation. Mostly due to its prominant role in the Vietnam War and extensive post-war commercial use. The Huey was one of the first light helicopters able to carry significant internal payloads due to its unique cabin design and over-head mounted gas-turbine power plant.
atc_flight_number=
atc_heavy=0
atc_airline=

Like that.....Notice the changes denoted by the "<-------------**" marks in the [fltsim=5] section

Drag the aircraft.cfg file onto the Desktop....
Make the changes...
Drag the aircraft.cfg file back into place again!

Try that!

Many thanks for the help, I have repainted a plane, and it works. So now I am working on a repaint kit, but it won't display in fsx, I created a [fltsim 1] by coping a 737, which the repaint kit is and made the changes. It saved all the changes.
