Can someone point me to or make a picture tutorial for photoreal repaints.

A picture tutorial is a must pretty much because it's much easier for me to learn that way

I have never attempted a photo real texture before, personally I enjoy painting my planes pixel by pixel.
I would expect it is just a case of getting some side-on photos and then editing them until they are the same size as the textures you are using then, carefully copying and pasting them?
That is how I would go about it anyay if I was going to do it.
