[resolved] I'm on the end of my tether

Postby FsNovice » Fri Jun 23, 2006 3:34 pm

I used a aircraft to do my first repaint and i followed gryshanks tutorial on how to add it to the original. When i try to load the plane and select it from the drop down menu which i added i nthe .cfg file for the plane.

This is the .cfg file for my repaint

Looks OK from a quick peek. It's difficult to tell without the [fltsim.0] entry to compare it with.

According to your new entry the subfolders used for the repaint are named

Model.CFM
Panel
Sound.CFM
Texture.wc

The AIR file is named Airbus320-200CFM.AIR

Post the [fltsim.0] bit as well as the [fltsim.1] bit, and we'll probably be able to spot the problem at once.

Right. Now can you explain the exact problem. That's not clear from your original question.

I think the issue is the aircraft doesn't show up correctly.  But the important part is:

Does it not show up at all?

Or does the model show up, just totally gray?

In that case there's not much wrong with your Aircraft.cfg.
Make sure the repainted textures are in a new subfolder named Texture.wc
Also that the new textures are saved in an FS texture format (like DXT3 Extended BMP) under their correct file names.

does the subfolder need to be in the orginal texture folder for the aircraft or can it be anywhere within the aircraft folder as long as it has the right name

It must be in the main folder of the aircraft alongside the Aircraft.cfg file & all the other subfolders.

Good news. Everything must be exactly right or it won't work.
