hmm thats the alpha channel which is still there but must be completely black.. try opening the texture file in DTXBMP then click alpha.. send to editor.. make it a light grey then save it. go back to dtxbmp and click alpha refresh alpha and it should show in the top left hand corner.. then save as extended image again

on the alpha channel white = not much shine and black = chrome so the darker you get the more shinier it gets
