HELP! Repaint files

is there any way to create a NEW texture in the fs aircraft folder instead of just changing one of the original textures?
i looked around the site but couldnt find anything on the saving process, just the repainting.  ???

Do you want to make a new texture for your aircraft?

Copy one of the texture files into a new folder, and call it texture.new (or .whatever-you-want).  Now edit the textures to whatever you desire.

Open the aircraft.cfg file using notepad and copy the first [fltsim.0] entry.  Now paste it under the last [fltsim.*] entry.  Change the name of the entry and the ui_variation, then put the name of the folder you created next to the texture= entry.  This should fix what you are trying to do.

having problems now ive renamed everything u told me to but  the repaint isnt showing up in the select plane menu

i named my new folder texture.3 and put 3 in the texture=

well, its still not working i dont know what is wrong all the files in the texture.3 folder i created are the same as the others, and the config. file is as shown
