I suspect you saved the texture in the 24 bit BMP format used by most graphics editors. Try using DXTBmp to convert the repainted texture by saving out in an FS Extended texture format. http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/index.htm

I forget the default texture format for FS000. Extended 16 bit 565 should do it.

Cheers Hagar i did a direct repaint of the copter and didn't save it as a seperate aircraft so i'll reload it and start again. as i said i am a computer thickie so i'll see if i can find out how to convert the file ect, it'll be by trial and error but hopefully i will do it. if i do this succesfully i plan on doing a full repaint on the TSR2 in 11 sqn colours, is it possable to scan the double eagle markings from a model kit decal sheet  then somehow transfer the image to the computer model? again thanks in advance...Greg  8)

OK, good luck. All this takes time to learn. You can find out a lot about texture formats by reading DXTBmp Help.  All sorts of little tricks are possible, like copying those markings from another image. It depends how familiar you are with whichever graphics editor/paint program you're using.
