Stone Hangar closed?

Postby tennm1980 » Mon May 28, 2007 12:33 pm

Not sure if this even matters, but Mike Stone's work is scattered throughout Simviation and other download sites. Im one who enjoys flying different aircraft, and always enjoyed Mr. Stone's interpretations of such, along with the small file sizes to boot. Went by the site yesterday to pick up something else to play around with, and I get the message "Mike Stone Hangar is closed." Im guessing this is a permanent change? Will definitely miss the ease and accessiblity of some great work.

Well, I guess all those BRATS who couldn't conceive a plane with no VC or whatever else passed in their minuscule particles that passes for their brains should be satisfied now. >:(

Alas thanks to some gormless teenagers Mike has decided to quit due to all the abuse and the like he got from people who are not worthy to lick his boots. I can only hope Mike changes his mind and returns as he really is one of the great designers and I've got most of his kites in my hangar.

Anybody that is prepared to devote as much time to help other flight simmers as Mike has done should be praised, and it is very sad indeed that he has decided to shut up shop.

Perhaps the "Gormless Teenagers" can step into his shoes, but I very much doubt it!

Thanks for the hard work Mike.

It's so annoying how a select group of people can ruin it for everyone else.

I would like to thank mike for his aircraft, especially their low file sizes which is a godsend if you're on 56k :)

I've never been a fan of Mike's work, but I know alot of people out there are and really enjoy his aircraft. It's a great shame that it has come to this, but I don't blame him...  >:(

And they give Great FPS Rates, which is why I used his C-17 in the Screenshot Contest.

Thats people who don't appreciate Mike's hard work into creating those aircraft, so what if you don't have VC's or are not the best of detail they are still very nice and good, I wish he made a Cessna  :'(

Yep, and A LOT of people really like it, judging by the number of repaints people have made of it.  It is sad to see Mike retire.  I fly quite a few of his planes, and really enjoy them.  I also can't blame him for his decision, and wish  him the best.

If you don't like his work then don't download them,And for d@mm >:( sure don't knock someones hard work that is put out for ((((FREE)))) :-X
And as for his Cessna 337/0-2 I love it and fly the wings off it. ;D
If it wasn't for guys like Mike Stone most of us would only have about 15 or 20 planes or less :'(
I can't afford 100s of dollars for payware aircraft. :(
I have over 500 freeware aircraft and at least 50% of them are as good or better then most of the payware that I have seen. 8-)
:'(Sad to see you go Mr.Stone best of luck to you in whatever you do.

Where did you get that idea? I've never used a Mike Stone model but I've always had plenty of aircraft.

Of course it's sad to see any freeware designer stop making things because people are sending nasty messages to him, but let's be honest, his models were far from the best.
